| Message: | I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on finding engineering jobs outside of the U.S., specifically western Europe. I am a recent graduate in Applied Physics, so I am looking for entry-level work, which makes my search a bit harder I realize... I have already been looking some but it seems the largest impediments are 1) These jobs won't hire anyone who's not an EU member 2) They require fluency in French, German, or Dutch It seems to me now that if I was to work over there I would need to find an American company that was looking to send engineers abroad for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. |

| Message: | Its may be possible to take up an assignments in other countries if the company that you work for already has operations there. Some engineering consultancy and sub-contracting firms may also hire for project overseas. But, as you said, there are almost always residency and visa issues. Don't know about Applied Physics, but some Petroleum engineers tend to move around quite a bit, including assignments on off-shore drilling rigs for months. |
