| Job Description: | Monsanto has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Crop Analytics division of its Technology organization located at the world headquarters campus in St. Louis, Missouri. This position for an analytical professional represents a full-time, career opportunity in an exciting, dynamic environment serving a broad range of research/development needs of a major Life Sciences Company. The successful incumbent must have excellent engineering skills and be able to interact on design teams comprised of multiple engineering disciplines; performing well in a team environment. The successful candidate will exhibit good verbal and written communication skills and possess clear potential for rapid growth and learning. Major Responsibilities: ? This person will have a significant hands-on role in developing small and large scale automation and machine design for high throughput analytical and field systems; playing a significant role in the design, development and documentation of research/production systems. ? He or she will be part of a design team responsible for the design, analysis, fabrication, installation, support and enhancement of mechanical and opto-mechanical systems used in production and research. ? Major duties include electrical design; opto-mechanical design, including all aspects of the design process from concept to finished systems; system analysis; fabrication of mechanical devices; and installation, configuration, troubleshooting and documentation of mechanical, optical and robotic systems under computer control. ? The candidate will provide technical leadership to other engineers in electrical and automation design. Required Skills: ? A Bachelor?s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with at least 8 years of experience is required; a Master?s degree in electrical engineering is preferred. ? A proven track record of innovation in developing automation solutions in analytical production and/or agriculture field environments. ? Key competencies include strong communication skills, ability to partner with clients, results orientation, customer focus, teamwork and problem solving skills. ? Experience in electrical and electronic systems, optical assemblies and automation systems is a must. ? Experience with computer control of complex systems, familiarity with computer programming languages, competence in using computers for engineering calculations, experience in AutoCAD electrical, Matlab, Visio and computer interfacing is ideal. ? Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical design would be considered a plus.
