| Job Description: | ARL is currently looking for an R&D Engineer for our Applied Enterprise Systems (AES) Department. The AES Department is part of the Applied Systems and Operations Automation (SOA) Division, which was formed to address the emerging fields of condition-based maintenance (CBM) and advanced sensing and control. The division provides valuable research and development efforts in these areas to support the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. industry. You would work in a dynamic environment, conducting experiments on behalf of the Army and Marine Corps. The experiments require the integration of several enterprise information systems using a variety of technologies. The technologies include service oriented architectures, business process execution language and enterprise service buses from multiple vendors. Your responsibilities would include: researching applicable systems integration technologies, evaluating the pros and cons of each, selecting the best approach and developing experimental solutions; transitioning the results of successful experiments to Army and Marine Corps customers and their vendors for future implementation; and summarizing the results in project reports and present findings at meetings with sponsors and at conferences. This job will be filled at an appropriate level, depending upon your education and experience. Minimum educational and work-related experience requirements are: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Sciences and Technology or Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirements include experience in Java, XML, UML, Object Oriented Design, JBoss and BPEL. Experience in Oracle database integration and applications, SAP ERP and Business Objects is preferred.
