About the Position As an Applications Engineer, you?ll enhance and create high-quality web applications that are the cornerstone of hi5?s social entertainment platform. You?ll have a strong focus on building server side components, tackling complex problems of scale along the way. You have expertise in the full application development lifecycle, and you?re capable of designing, implementing, and delivering major functionality end-to-end. You?re an excellent problem solver and are passionate about building great software for an audience of millions of users every day. Job Responsibilities *Design, develop, and operate highly scalable systems underlying social media and social gaming focused applications. *Collaborate with producers, designers, and engineers to build and deliver web applications that enable users and the business seamlessly. Requirements *B.S. Computer Science or related engineering field. *Several years of software development experience. *Expertise in server-side development using C++, Java, and/or C# *Significant development experience with design patterns and web frameworks such as Struts or .NET *Experience with web services (SOAP, REST). *Experience in a high volume environment. *Experience in database design, SQL, and object relational mapping. *Enthusiasm for solving difficult problems.
